BBI1OI Introduction to Business, Grade 9, Open This course introduces students to the many disciplines of study in business such as Managing Personal Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Management, and International Business. This course is the same as BBI2OI. Students can take either one, but not both. |
BTT1OI (English) BTT1OF (French Immersion) Information & Communication Technology in Business, Grade 9, Open This course has a focus on software used in business and school environments. Students will learn to effectively use Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher), Google Apps (Docs, Sheets, Slides), create their own web pages, learn about safe uses of social media, and effective online researching techniques. This course is the same as BTT2OI. Students can take either one, but not both. |

BAF3MI Financial Accounting Fundamentals, Grade 11, University or College This course introduces students to the accounting practices for service and merchandising businesses, computerized accounting and financial analysis. It is an excellent foundation for further studies in business. This course is a prerequisite for BAT4MI. |
BDI3CI Entrepreneurship: The Venture, Grade 11, College This course focuses on ways in which entrepreneurs recognize opportunities, generate ideas, and organize resources to plan successful business ventures. Students will create a venture plan to support their own idea or for a school-based or student-run business. Through hands-on experiences, students will have opportunities to develop the values, traits, and skills most often associated with successful entrepreneurs. |
BMI3CI Marketing: Goods, Services, Events, Grade 11, College This course introduces the fundamental concepts of product marketing, which includes the marketing of goods, services, and events. Students will examine how trends, issues, global economic changes, and information technology influence consumer buying habits. Students will engage in marketing research, develop marketing strategies, and produce a marketing plan for a product they have invented. |
BAT4MI Financial Accounting Principles, Grade 12, University or College Prerequisite: BAF3MI This course is ideal preparation for post-secondary studies in any area of business, as accounting is the basis of business decision making. Topics include financial statement analysis, partnerships, corporations, and sources of financing. |
BBB4MI International Business Fundamentals, Grade 12, University or College Today, virtually every aspect of economic activity is influenced by international business. In this course, students will develop a fundamental understanding of international issues and their impact on Canada and the global economy. Students will explore trade and the factors that influence success in international markets. They will learn about the techniques and strategies associated with marketing, distribution, and managing international business effectively. This course prepares students for postsecondary programs in business, including international business, marketing, and management. |
BOH4MI Business Leadership: Management Fundamentals, Grade 12, University or College This course focuses on a leader’s function in a successful business including leading, planning, organizing, and controlling. Students will have an opportunity to: analyse the role of a leader in business, explore group dynamics and how to manage teams effectively, understand the impact of workplace stress and conflict, understand the importance of motivation and develop their communication skills. |
