This course teaches students how to develop and achieve personal goals for future learning and work. Students will assess their skills and interests and begin to explore the transition from high school to either work, apprenticeships, college or university.

Leadership & Peer Support, Grade 11, Open

Prerequisite: Interview may be required

This course deals with the theoretical and practical applications of student leadership. Students will develop skills in the areas of conflict resolution, planning and goal setting, problem solving, group dynamics and teamwork. We will look at defining leadership, investigate skills required and regularly used in leadership roles, and put those leadership roles into action through the planning and execution of school events throughout the semester. This course is an active, vital combination of classroom instruction and practical activities which will focus on the development and understanding of leadership skills and knowledge.
