FIF1DI French Immersion, Grade 9, Academic Prerequisite: Grade 8 French Immersion This course enables students to speak and interact in French independently in real-life and personally relevant contexts. Students will enhance their knowledge of the language through the study of French-Canadian literature. They will also increase their understanding and appreciation of diverse French-speaking communities. This Language Arts course is intended for French Immersion/Extended French students. |

This course emphasizes the knowledge and skills required to plan and make effective presentations and to speak effectively in both formal and informal contexts, using such forms as reports, speeches, debates, panel discussions, storytelling, recitations, interviews, and multimedia presentations. |
FEF3UI Extended French, Grade 11, University Prerequisite: FIF2DI This course provides opportunities to consolidate language-learning strategies and apply them in a variety of real-life contexts. Students will enhance their knowledge of the language and culture through the study of contemporary and well-known French European authors. They will also deepen their understanding and appreciation of diverse French-speaking communities. This Language Arts course is intended for Extended French students. |
FIF3UI French Immersion, Grade 11, University Prerequisite: FIF2DI This course provides opportunities for students to consolidate the communication skills required to speak and interact with confidence and accuracy in French. Students will increase their knowledge of the language and culture through the study of French literature from around the world. They will deepen their understanding and appreciation of diverse French-speaking communities. This Language Arts course is intended for French Immersion students. |
COOPR2 Co-op for Immersion or Extended French Students, University Prerequisite: FEF3UI or FIF3UI A 2-credit co-operative education package is offered to French Immersion students. Prospective candidates will be interviewed prior to acceptance. Successful students will work in a French language environment as an educational assistant trainee in one of six French Immersion feeder schools for a half day in either semester (St. Andrews, Highland P.S., Clemens Mill, Hespeler Public, Tait St. or St. Noel de Chabanel). Students receive 2 credits in French for their co-op term and start their placements immediately once the legal forms are completed and signed. Placement opportunities are limited and interviews for acceptance are competitive. Bonne chance! |

Students will enhance their knowledge of the language and culture through the study of Canadian and international French literature. They will enrich their understanding and appreciation of diverse French-speaking communities. This Language Arts course is intended for Extended French students. |
FIF4UI French Immersion, Grade 12, University Prerequisite: FIF3UI This course provides students with extensive opportunities to communicate, interact, and think critically and creatively in French. Students will study a selection of French literature from the Middle Ages to the present. They will enrich their understanding and appreciation of diverse French-speaking communities. This Language Arts course is intended for French Immersion students. |
PPL4OF Healthy Active Living – Co-ed, Grade 12, Open This course enables students to further develop the knowledge and skills they need to make healthy choices now and lead healthy, active lives in the future. Through participation in a wide range of physical activities, students enhance their movement competence, personal fitness, and confidence. Students also acquire an understanding of the factors and skills that contribute to healthy development and learn how their own well-being is affected by, and affects, the world around them. Students build their sense of self, learn to interact positively with others, and develop their ability to think critically and creatively while being immersed in the French language. This course is intended for French Immersion/Extended French students. |
