Blended Learning Day – May 8, 2024
Wednesday, May 8th, 2024 is a Blended Learning Day. Secondary teachers will be engaging in Professional Development to support the expansion of de-streaming and single streaming. For students, these days will be similar to our Instructional Support Days, where students are not required to attend in-person but will have learning provided through the virtual classroom and meetings with their teachers. Attendance will be taken, but in-person attendance will be optional on these days.
Please note:
- Blended Learning Days are instructional days.
- Attendance will be taken so students must engage online or in person.
- A supervised study space will be available in the morning for students who wish to attend. In the afternoon, these students would then move through their afternoon schedule of 35-minute classes.
- ACE & Bridges students will attend school with regular programming and following regular attendance procedures.
- Transportation will run at regular times

GCI – Blended Learning Day Schedule
8:10 am – 10:45 am – Remote – ASYNCHRONOUS Learning
- Students are to log in to their class VLEs* and complete the work provided by their teachers for all of their courses. All 4 classes have asynchronous materials posted for approximately 35 min.
- Staff will participate in the PD session. Students may attend ACE or Bridges classes and a supervised study area.
10:45 am – 11:45 am Lunch
11:45 am – 2:20 pm – Remote – SYNCHRONOUS Learning
Teachers will be available to meet with students as per the schedule below.
- Period 1 – 11:45 am – 12:23 pm
- Period 2 -12:25 pm – 1:02 pm
- Period 3 -1:04 pm – 1:41 pm
- Period 4 – 1:43 pm – 2:20 pm
