On Thursday March 30, most grade 10 and other eligible students will write the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test. Those expected to write the test have been notified and will receive specific information from the school either by mail or from a homeroom teacher after March Break. Grade 10 students who were successful on the piloted online version administered in October 2016 will not write the test on March 30th. The test administration has implications for all students:

Modified Timetable – There will be no classes on March 30th*. Teachers will be available in the afternoon from 12:25 pm to 2:25 pm for tutorial assistance. Students in all grades are encouraged to use this time to seek extra help from teachers.

*The Life Skills class will operate as it normally does.

Attendance – Students who attend in the morning of March 30th but who are not writing the test will be marked as present and accommodated in the cafeteria until the test is over. The library will be closed for the entire day.

School Bus Transportation – School buses will run as they normally do.

Teachers have been working with students to prepare them for the test and will continue to do so right up until March 30th. Parents may download the Parent Information Sheet and visit the EQAO website for information and resources that can be used to reinforce skills at home.
