Courses with scheduled final assessments will occur on the Assessment and Evaluation days, Friday, June 20th to Wednesday, June 25th, starting at the scheduled time each day. During the June 16th-19th final assessment preparation period, students must continue to complete homework and review exercises to better prepare for formal assessments. Assessment and Evaluation days will follow the general schedule in the table below.

ASSESSMENT and EVALUATION DAYS: SCHEDULE

Block B

GENERAL INFORMATION:

  • All students must be available to attend school on the Assessment and Evaluation days to complete assessment tasks, as requested by their teachers. The attached schedule outlines courses with final evaluations on these days. Teachers will also review this information with their classes. Where there is no scheduled evaluation, teachers may still request specific students to attend to demonstrate course expectations.
  • On these days student attendance will be taken for scheduled exams, assessments, performance tasks, in-person credit rescue and level-up opportunities.
  • Attendance is not required for students without scheduled Assessments or Evaluations, unless required by the teacher. Students without a scheduled activity may study and work from home.
    • The Library and cafeteria will be available for students
  • ACE and Bridges students will attend school according to their regular schedules.

INFORMATION ABOUT FINAL ASSESSMENTS & EVALUATIONS:

  • While 70% of a student’s grade is based on work completed during the term, 30% of a student’s grade in every course is based on final evaluations administered at or towards the end of the course (Growing Success, 2010).
  • Students might need to finish a single task or project or be expected to fulfill several components in order to demonstrate overall expectations.
  • Final Assessments and Evaluations may occur during regular class time, or may be scheduled during the four specified days at the end of the semester, or a combination of both.
  • Regular class attendance and attention to schoolwork are essential during the assessment period. A parent or guardian must validate any absences. Failure to complete final assessments may affect a student’s final grade and may result in a loss of credit.

STUDY WEEK:

  • Starting June 16th, school activities (e.g., extracurricular activities, field trips, etc.) will not run, allowing students time to prepare for the upcoming Assessment and Evaluation Days.
ASSESSMENT and EVALUATION SCHEDULE: June 20 – 25, 2024
